Terms of service
Updated 28 September 2026. These terms cover QuietScribe, provided by Digital It Up, 11th Cross, Mahadeshwara Extn, Hebbal High Tension Road, Mysore 570016, India. Contact info@digitalitup.in for product support, complaints and questions about these terms.
Eligibility
QuietScribe is intended for business and personal productivity use by adults. You must be at least 13 years old to sign up for the beta or a subscription, and you confirm this at signup. QuietScribe is not directed to children. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you may use QuietScribe only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms. Where a higher minimum age applies to online consent under local law (for example 16 in parts of the EU), that age applies to you.
Subscriptions renew automatically
Paid subscriptions are US$10 per month, billed monthly, and renew automatically until you cancel. Any free trial converts to the paid monthly plan if you do not cancel before it ends. The exact price, taxes, currency, trial terms and first-charge date are shown in Paddle checkout before you pay. You can cancel at any time, online, through the “Manage subscription” link in your Paddle receipt or customer portal, or from inside the QuietScribe app — see cancellation details below.
Beta access and availability
QuietScribe is currently in private beta, free until launch with no card required. Beta testers receive the first three months free after launch. We will communicate redemption details before launch. Beta signup does not authorize a charge or automatically create a paid subscription.
The beta may contain errors and features may change. Keep backups of important information. We intend to offer the app internationally, subject to payment-provider availability, applicable laws and supported countries; availability is not guaranteed in every country.
Paid subscriptions
The planned launch price is USD 10 per month for one active Mac, with a 7-day trial for eligible new paid subscriptions. The actual price, currency, applicable taxes, trial eligibility, first charge date and renewal terms must be displayed at checkout before you agree to purchase. Subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled. Beta promotions and other trials are not necessarily combined; the applicable offer will be shown before you subscribe.
Paddle is the merchant of record for paid orders; the applicable Paddle selling entity and buyer terms appear at checkout. Paddle handles payment processing, billing enquiries and payment refunds. Product and technical support remain available from Digital It Up.
Cancel through the customer portal or the link in your Paddle receipt before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current access period. A free trial must be cancelled before the first charge to avoid payment. Contact us if you cannot access cancellation. Price changes will be communicated before they apply, with any notice and cancellation rights required by law.
Refunds and consumer rights
QuietScribe is supplied as a digital license. Purchases and renewal payments are non-refundable, with no discretionary refunds for change of mind or non-use, except where applicable law or Paddle’s applicable policy provides otherwise. Read the full Refund Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory withdrawal, cancellation or refund rights or remedies for faulty or misdescribed software. Any legally required express consent about beginning digital supply during a withdrawal period must be obtained at checkout; these terms alone do not waive those rights.
Your license
During valid beta or subscription access, you may install and use QuietScribe on one active Mac at a time. Keep your license key private. Activating another Mac moves the activation; previously cached access may persist briefly while offline. You can deactivate a Mac in Settings. Do not resell or share license keys or bypass access controls. Open-source license rights and activities expressly permitted by applicable law are unaffected by these restrictions.
Requirements and limitations
QuietScribe requires Apple Silicon, macOS 14.4 or later, approximately 10 GB of initial free disk space plus recording storage, and internet access for setup and periodic license checks. Call detection depends on audio activity and the app/device combination. Transcripts, speaker labels, translations, summaries and AI answers can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check important information against recordings and confirm decisions with participants. QuietScribe is not a substitute for professional advice or a guaranteed record of a meeting.
Recording, privacy and your content
Before recording, obtain any required consent and give required notices in your and other participants’ locations. Comply with workplace, confidentiality and other applicable obligations. The app’s consent prompt only asks you: it does not obtain anyone else’s consent or display a recording notice to them. Do not use QuietScribe to record unlawfully.
You retain your rights in your recordings and notes. Choosing Notion or a synced destination may transfer content to that provider. You are responsible for selecting destinations, managing access, and retaining or deleting your files. See our Privacy policy for details.
Third-party software and models
QuietScribe uses FFmpeg under LGPL 2.1 or later, whisper.cpp and other components under their respective open-source licenses. Gemma 4 is provided under Apache 2.0. Third-party components remain owned by their respective rights holders; we do not claim ownership of them. Their licenses govern those components and take precedence over conflicting restrictions in these terms, including rights to modification, redistribution and reverse engineering where granted. License notices and FFmpeg source downloads are available separately and notices are included in the app.
Service issues and liability
We aim to provide a working service but cannot guarantee error-free transcription, uninterrupted access or recovery of every recording. Report problems to support so we can investigate. To the extent permitted by applicable law, beta software is supplied as available without additional guarantees. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or reduces mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and disputes
We will give notice of material changes where required. Changes do not remove rights arising from earlier purchases. Contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint. These terms do not require arbitration or deprive you of mandatory rights or access to courts available under applicable law.
